Chapter 1

‘Hello…I am hoping I have got this right and you’re Meghan?’

Meghan turned round to meet the man with the deep baritone voice. She took a while to observe him in surprise from head to toe, and she had to concede begrudgingly to herself that the man before her was actually quite attractive with his roguish dark good looks, jet black hair and tall, well-built frame. Although the scruffy shirt he was wearing left a lot to be desired, causing Meghan to give out an expression of disapproval. But if the man noticed he did not let on as he continued to smile warmly at her.

Yes that's right I am Meghan, and you must then be Dean?’

‘Yes Dean at your service…’ he held out his right hand to greet her officially, and Meghan automatically responded placing her own into his large palm.

Oh…’ Meghan exclaimed not expecting an almost instant electric shock to travel from her fingertips right up to her arm by their mere innocent physical contact.

Wow, you felt that too then…I wonder if it is a sign of things to come,' Dean winked at her with his striking baby blue eyes.

I don't think so…that was totally by accident,' Meghan dragged her eyes away from Dean, determined not to be taken in by his charm. ‘Anyway, how did you recognise me so easily?’

‘My mother said to look out for an attractive red-head, and she was right…no actually not quite right your more than attractive, your beautiful…and to think I was worried about turning up for this blind date tonight.'

Thank you for your compliment, but I think I should be clear with you from the start, I don't want to give you the wrong impression. But this blind date that we are on…it’s not a real date, not on my side in any case,' Meghan wanted to bury herself inside a hole when she saw the confused look Dean cast her way.

Sorry I don’t mean to sound rude. What I mean is that I am not looking for a relationship, I am perfectly fine being single, but my mother you see wouldn't leave me alone until I promised I would go out on a date with you. So you see, I have been quite awful in making you come all the way out here for nothing. I don't want to waste any more of your time…so I guess we should both go home, instead of going on to have dinner now?' Meghan babbled before taking a deep breath after her long sentence.
